Mission & Vision

MISSION

Riverside City Football Club (RCFC) is a non-profit organization focused on player development through professional soccer training throughout Riverside County.

Our mission is to provide a professional, safe and positive soccer environment while developing talented youth players. We strive to develop players capable of competing at the highest levels of competitive youth soccer in the state.

I don’t have time for hobbies. At the end of the day, I treat my job as a hobby. It’s something I love doing.

– David Beckham

In football, the worst blindness is only seeing the ball.

– Nelson Falcão Rodrigues

VISION

RCFC staff builds age specific curriculum and guidelines coaches use throughout the season. The RCFC curriculum is based on the philosophy of US Soccer. Many of the sessions consist of various small sided games/activities that equate to 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, and 3 vs 2, activities. Players learn many skills within these types of activities such as dribbling, passing and shooting. We focus on age appropriate development so the players can learn and enjoy their time at practices and games.

As players progress and age through the program years, they are challenged to expand their technical, physical, and emotional capabilities.  Coaches strive to build players’ “soccer IQ” and broaden their larger understanding of the game and life.  Ultimately, players are encouraged to consider college placement and signing opportunities as well as promotion to RCFC’s professional 1st team, in the National Premier Soccer League.

PHILOSOPHY

RCFC provides opportunity for all soccer players to participate in a competitive environment that develops a player’s skills, knowledge and appreciation for the game of soccer by incorporating the best training, structure and development through positive coaching.

Through experiences derived from playing competitive soccer, we strive to help players mature as people and will encourage the development of important life skills such as good sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting and fair play.

Coaching Philosophy

  • Focused on development over winning
  • High quality training sessions with at least 50% active time
  • High expectations for discipline and effort
  • Positive learning environment based on specific, truthful and positive feedback/praise

I never thought I’d play soccer past high school, so to go from that team to actually being most-capped and three World Cups is pretty special.
